  • Host/User Information: This includes data you provide to create an HOST account, such as but not limited to, your name, email address, company name, and how you plan to use HOST.
  • App Usage Information: We collect data about your interactions with our platform to improve it and personalize your experience. This may include information like, but not limited to, features used, pages visited, and device data etc.

Information Collected Through Event Apps

Event organizers using HOST can collect information about attendees through their event apps or web apps. This attendee data may include, but not limited to, names, email addresses, dietary restrictions, or other details relevant to the event. HOST acts as a processor for this data; The event organizer who created the app is the data controller.

How We Use Your Information:

We use your information responsibly to:

  • Improve HOST's features and functionality.
  • Provide core functionalities for building event apps.
  • Ensure the security of both your information and our platform.
  • Communicate with you directly about your account, services, and support inquiries.
  • Send occasional emails about new features or updates (with an opt-out option) - Only applicable to Hosts and not attendees.

We never share, sell, rent, or misuse your information for commercial purposes. You can request to remove your information by emailing [email protected].

Your GDPR Rights (if applicable)

HOST operates under the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This regulation distinguishes between two types of organizations that handle personal data:

  • Data Controllers: These organizations determine how personal data is used and are primarily responsible for its protection.
  • Data Processors: These organizations process personal data on behalf of data controllers.

Who Controls The Attendee Event Data?

When your attendees attend an event built with HOST, the event organizer is typically the data controller. This means they decide what information is collected through the event app and how it's used. HOST acts as a data processor, providing the tools and platform for the organizer to manage the event and attendee data.

Third-Party Data Sharing

We may share your data with third-party service providers who help us operate HOST. These providers are only authorized to use your data for the specific services they perform on our behalf. We never share your data with anyone who doesn't use HOST or who doesn't have a strict obligation to protect your privacy.

HOST’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements


Data Retention

We store your data for as long as your HOST account is active or as needed to provide our services. We may also retain data for legal or business purposes, but only for the minimum time necessary. Event organizers can choose to delete attendee information at any time.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are tiny internet files that live in your browser. We use cookies to personalise your website visits, to “remember” your preferences, and to “recognise” you on subsequent visits – to provide greater personalisation. In case you do not want this, you can easily clear all cookies from your browser.We welcome you once again on the HOST portal.

HOST servers are hosted in The Netherlands, a region with a strong focus on data privacy. We take information security very seriously and are committed to protecting your data in accordance with the strictest regulations. HOST is fully GDPR compliant, ensuring your information is handled according to the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation. We are also ISO 27001:2022 certified, demonstrating our commitment to maintaining robust information security management systems. Additionally, our SOC 2 Type 2 certification verifies the effectiveness of our controls to safeguard your data. This comprehensive approach to data security allows you to use HOST with confidence, knowing your information is protected by the highest industry standards.

We have tried our best in removing any possible security holes in our released browser extensions and apps, but since it is hard to 100% verify software, we cannot provide 100% guarantee that HOST Services has zero security vulnerability. HOST is not responsible for any security issues caused by HOST Services.

Information Collected About Attendees Through Event Apps

Event organizers control the information collected about attendees through their event apps & web apps. HOST does not use this information for marketing purposes. We may use anonymized attendee data for analytics to improve our platform, but this data will not be traceable to any individual.

If an attendee declines to share their information through the event app & web app, their details will not be collected or shared with HOST or any third-party.
